I Been A Busy Bee.....

Making chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes. Chocolate cupcakes with a peanut butter center. The decorating is done, sunflowers with lady bugs and they will all have bumble bees as a topper. Overall not to hard to do just a bit time consuming but I am satisfied with the outcome. Can't wait to see the look on the birthday girls face tomorrow.

I got a BUZZ.........

Well not personally but I'm giving a friend a preview of cupcakes for his wife. So this will be the cupcake toppers.

Today's Special......

This morning, being Memorial Day, we decided to take the new puppy out for a short walk and to watch the parade. I've been thinking for the last few days that I'd like to do something a little different and something refreshing in celebration of the holiday. I've been looking through recipes trying to find something besides the standard chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. While I enjoy both those flavors it's nice to have something different. Last week I made Mango cupcakes with Mango butter cream frosting and a Mango/ Habanero chutney. They were quite tasty unfortunately no pictures maybe because they didn't last long enough to take any. Anyways today's special in honor of Memorial Day, Lemon Meringue Cupcakes. Easy to make, look great and yes yummy.

To my viewing friend..

in Monomoy Island, Massachusetts, with summer beginning we thought we would make a trip to the Island. However we don't really know anyone there and would love to have you show us around if possible. We would love to come down to the preserve and take some photos and learn more about the area. We have traveled to many preserve areas in the USA enjoying each of them. We do have two Labradors that enjoy the water, they do not hunt. Thought I'd mention that as I don't know if they allow dogs at the preserve or ferry. First Real Sculptured Cake......

Today I worked on a birthday cake, my first Rice Krispy sculpture cake. I was asked to do a Pug for a cake so having never done one before I jumped right in and volunteered. I did my best and I did learn something new, like not what to do. Made the Pug and put it on a twelve inch round Black Forest cake. Sooooooo this is how it turned out. I don't have an airbrush and other tools like the big cake people so the fur part of the sculpture....well it speaks for itself. Eventually I'll get all that stuff and have better success.

Tribute to Arizona.....

Cupcake style. If you can't go to Arizona then why not bring Arizona to yourself? My brother who lives in Arizona was bragging that all the flowers were up and blooming and I have to admit I was a bit jealous. I love spring and all the colors that come with it so I thought I'd create a little springtime of my own. Admittedly I have to look at a few more cacti so that I can create more of a variety, but for my first try I am pleased with the outcome of the ones created. New Cupcakes.....

I haven't really posted anything for awhile so I wanted to take a few minutes and post some pictures of some new cupcakes I've made in the past week. First I made..
1) Mocha Espresso Raspberry cupcakes with a raspberry drizzle and a raspberry center with an espresso/amaretto soak.
2) Chocolate peanut butter cupcakes with a peanut butter center and a homemade chocolate, chocolate dragon.
