After some difficulty getting in the door through the Union security and stage people we got in. Thanks to Brian and luckily he was just inside to door enjoying some pre-show warm up on the pallet jack. I have to say the whole crew from Casting Crowns and For King and Country are just regular down to earth people who really are an example of what they are all about. We delivered cupcakes, pie, maple candy, Vermont pure maple syrup and some other homemade candies to them for the show. Happy to say they really have moving music. We did not go to work we just went for the good company. Maybe more later it was an exhausting evening. For now pictures.....

New DIY Project......
As most of you know by now my travel blog has turned mostly to a baking blog.
We haven't traveled since summer but hopefully will be traveling again by the end of the year. While we may travel within the USA the plan is to go to Germany via Amsterdam and to spend three weeks to a month there. Not just in Germany but throughout Europe.
So since we are not traveling and I am baking I decided i need some cupcake towers. I've seen them done and finally got around to getting the items i need to make my own. The ones you can buy are expensive and if they're not just to cheep looking. I spent about 7.50 making this cupcake tower but I had the center already. The cost of the two plates..4.50. The cost of the glue 2.99. I bought Locktite I've always had great success with it. Just be sure when you place whatever your gluing that it's exactly where you want it because once it touches it's not moving. This is my first one and I learned that plus a few other things to do. Also you can always add things to your center like dry flowers, marbles, pebbles whatever you want pretty much. You can make one like I did in about ten minutes. Takes more time just getting the items. For a first go at the tower I'm happy. Plus if you decide to you can always sell them.

Valentines Day Cake for My Valentine......
Well I made cupcakes yesterday for Valentines Day and they will make great gifts but I needed to do something for my Valentine so she will feel special. It's been a rough month and tomorrow the 14th will make a month that she has been in the hospital and rehab. I'm hoping to get there tomorrow by noon but we are in the middle of a major storm so the 25-30 mile drive on the back road will be challenging to say the least. I didn't want to make a huge cake but unfortunately it turned out to be twice the size I wanted it to be. More cake for the hospital workers. Anyways I made a "Sweet Tarts" cake with all the sayings. Nothing special flavor wise just vanilla with homemade marshmallow fondant..............Pics..........

New Valentines Day Cupcakes
As a lot of people are experiencing winters fury this week we are expecting another winter storm. For me it's just a good opportunity to make up some Valentines Day cupcakes.
I made roses for the first time ever and made them with marshmallow fondant. They were a lot easier than I thought they would be, now just to practice making more. Over all I'm pleased with the outcome of the roses but never hurts to practice. I used white chocolate to make the hearts, XO the arrows and the LOVE to put on the cupcakes. Also the little red printed portion of the cupcake was made with MM fondant. I don't have the fancy printers for embossing prints on fondant so I just used a nice glass plate that has some nice print on it. I just cut out the cupcake size top portion of fondant then pressed it onto the plate.
I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and has a wonderful Valentines Day. Yup, here's the photos.
