Easy to do Spring or Easter cupcakes........

Yup easy and fun, you just need a little time and some candies. I used jelly beans, gum drops, candy corn some edible grass. You can pretty much use anything just get your ideas together before hand and make a list. You can call them whatever you like, Easter Cupcakes, Spring Cupcakes etc. Candy corn comes in Easter colors this time of year so Walgreen's or you pharmacy store should have all those candies. This is what I came up with...

Lego Cake Attempt...

I've wanted to make a Lego cake for awhile so this weekend I decided to do one for my son. While it's true he is probably to old for one I made it for him anyways.
As always I learn new things, the first being that when you are coloring white chocolate you need to oil based food coloring, I did not and had to improvise. It would have been less time consuming and a whole lot easier if I did. They still came out tasty (the Lego blocks) but would have been shinier if I had the oil based food colors or chocolate already colored.
In any event my son was happy to receive a decent cake. It was to bad I rushed through the project but I did learn some new stuff so all in all not a total loss. So here are the photo's, let me know what you think.

It's near.....

spring so I thought I'd make something that says SPRING! I think of fresh fruit and veggies, oh and sun when it gets to be this time of year so I added a new cupcake to the list. Fresh strawberry cupcake with strawberry mascarpone  filling and fresh strawberry frosting, add a few sprinkles and what you get is a yummy fresh, light cupcake. They won't last long......

Viewer Challenge......

While I do love to travel and hope to do so again soon I have a non travel challenge to all of you. As most of you know that while I'm not traveling I am a baker. So this is my challenge, if you have an interesting idea for a cake that you would like to see done leave a comment, as detailed or non-detailed as you like. I can't promise that I will make all of the ideas submitted but I will take the top ideas and maybe the most challenging ideas and do a photo journal of the process. If you leave your idea after the journal I will post it for viewing, so bring on the ideas. Birthday Cakes, Wedding Cakes, Cupcakes because they are cake :) and then theme, color etc. I will make and effort to do one per month. Okay let's submit those ideas!

Casting Crowns, Amherst Mass...

After some difficulty getting in the door through the Union security and stage people we got in. Thanks to Brian and luckily he was just inside to door enjoying some pre-show warm up on the pallet jack. I have to say the whole crew from Casting Crowns and For King and Country are just regular down to earth people who really are an example of what they are all about. We delivered cupcakes, pie, maple candy, Vermont pure maple syrup and some other homemade candies to them for the show. Happy to say they really have moving music. We did not go to work we just went for the good company. Maybe more later it was an exhausting evening. For now pictures.....
